Christ Church Badminton Club
By offering Badminton at two venues on two different evenings of the week, and in conjunction with the Caley Youth Club,
we accommodate players of all ages, objectives, and standards.
We meet at Clements Hall, Hawkwell, from 8.00pm on Tuesday evenings, and The Caley Youth Club meets in Caley Hall at Rayleigh Christ Church from 6:00pm
on Wednesday evenings.
We are affiliated to the Southend and District Badminton Association and arrange matches against other local clubs for
those members interested. We also have two non-obligatory tournaments each year and a number of social events.

Christ Church Ladies Club
We meet at 8.00pm every Tuesday evening in Caley Hall.
We maintain a very varied programme with a variety of speakers on all
manner of subjects, some make us laugh and others give food for thought.
We have a lot of evenings out: - cookery demonstrations, walks, barbecues
and coach trips.
Other special evenings include our Easter Service, where we collect and
distribute eggs for our elderly friends, and our Christmas Carol Service,
when we fill boxes of groceries again for our elderly friends. And of
course our Anniversary Service and Supper which includes a sit down meal
in Caley Hall. This year we raised over £500 for local charities.

Concord Ladies Club
The Concord club has now reached its 30th year (2005). It’s only
when we look back that we realise how much fun we have had and how many
friends we’ve made. We meet on Wednesday afternoons in Caley Hall
from 1.30 – 3.00pm. Our aim is to have fun and friendship while raising
money for many good causes which this year amounted to over £700.
We enjoy a varied programme of events with many interesting and
entertaining speakers, enjoyable outings and lots of eating.

We meet on the second Thursday of each month at 8.00pm.
Our programme over the last year included:
Wood-turning demonstration, The Advanced Surgical Equipment Trust which
supports Southend Hospital, Quiz & Fish, Two BBQ’s and a walk to
Canewdon Church, Meal at Brandy Hole Yacht Club, Quiz Night, Youth
Enterprise charity, Tales of the Southend Lifeboat, Christmas Social, New
Year Meal.
